It is great to see wine writers endorsing our consistency in creating fine red wine. Our Unison 2001 is again a great example of maintaining our style and reaching the high standard of quality people have come to expect from Unison.
Ruby red with youthful violet tones, the Unison 2001 this year is a slightly different blend. We have dramatically increased the percentage of Syrah as we feel this variety showed exceptionally well in 2001. In the bouquet there is a lot happening - beautiful cherry and dark berry aromas are complexed with subtle oak and fine notes of spice. The palate follows on very well from the harmony evident in the aroma, the attack is soft and the development in the mouth is round, full, concentrated and wonderfully balanced – another masterpiece from the winemaker duo Bruce and Anna-Barbara. To be enjoyed immediately but will cellar well to at least 2008.
