Unison Pinot Gris - Unison's first white wine release.
We have sold out of Unison Pinot Gris, but the good news is that there is an exciting new vintage in production. Our 2011 Pinot Gris will be released in October.
2006 saw the release of our first white wine. Unison Pinot Gris 2006, fresh fruit, un-oaked, soft, smooth and mouth-filling. This is a beautiful example of this classic variety - crisp dry finish with lots of fruit and no residual sugar added.
"....While Unison is best known for its red wines, the winery's sole white wine is something of a catch too, thanks to its vibrant apple and orange flavours (unhampered by oak), and smoky, honeyed notes to the finish." Wine and Spirit Magazine June 2008
In June 2008 we launched our second vintage, Pinot Gris 2007. Building on the strengths of the 2006, we're sure you'll love this one too! It is a perfect match with fish and antipesto platters.
Here is a review by Claudine Earley "...The most elegant tasted was the Unison Hawkes Bay Pinot Gris 2007. It smells of marshmellow, is dry, and tastes like rain wettened apple." Capital Times May 2009
